Radisson opens hotel in Saudi Holy City

Madinah property is just steps from Quba Mosque

Radisson Hotels has opened its latest hotel in Madinah (Medina), Saudi Arabia, marking the group’s debut in the Holy City.

Known as the second holiest city after Makkah (Mecca), Madinah attracts millions of pilgrims each year who visit the Prophet’s Mosque, home to the resting place of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Rich in history and culture, Madinah’s historic sites include the Quba Mosque, the oldest mosque in Islamic history, and Mount Uhud, the site of the famous Battle of Uhud.

Strategically located just steps from the Quba Mosque, Radisson Hotel Madinah is billed as an upscale property designed to meet the needs of pilgrims visiting the city for Umrah, as well as business and leisure travellers.

The hotel is just 3km away from the Prophet’s Mosque and is accessible via the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport (16km away) and the Madinah train station (10km), with convenient links to Jeddah and Makkah.

The property’s 165 accommodations include 53 business suites, all with Scandinavian-inspired interiors in a calming colour palette. Amenities include a lobby cafe, restaurant and a poolside juice bar.

Tim Cordon, COO, Middle East, Africa & Southeast Asia Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group, said the opening marked “a significant milestone” for the group.

“Signed less than a year ago, this opening further demonstrates our dedication to rapidly growing our presence by successfully bringing our signed projects to life.”

Already operating more than 30 properties in Saudi, Radisson Hotel Group recently announced plans to introduce two new Park Inn by Radisson hotels in Madinah.

Located at Islamic World District (IWD), Knowledge Economic City, the two properties would add 733 keys, 587 hotel rooms and 146 serviced apartments. They are slated to open by 2030.
