Peninsula Hong Kong welcomes six bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantoms

Luxury hotel’s historic fleet includes Bentleys, Alphards and privately chartered helicopters

Luxury heritage hotel The Peninsula Hong Kong has taken delivery of six bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended saloons to further bolster its prestige fleet that has been welcoming guests in style for more than half a century.

Often guests’ first encounter with The Peninsula experience, the handmade Rolls-Royce cars and Bentley Bentayga SUVs are also available for use during their stay, whether as an airport transfer or private tour of the city.

A stay in the Peninsula Suite on the 26th floor, for example, comes with access to a Rolls-Royce ride, as well as views of Victoria Harbour and a private landscaped terrace.

The storied hotel, which has earned the monker the 'Grande Dame of the Far East', also has two helipads for swift airport transfers or flightseeing across Hong Kong harbour.

The latest Phantoms sport the iconic Peninsula Green livery while passengers can enjoy massage seats and elevated footrests in transit.

Regarded as the pinnacle of luxury in automotive, Rolls-Royce is a favoured marquee for Dubai’s Burj Al Arab hotel but even that property can’t match The Peninsula’s order book history with the UK carmaker.

In 1970, The Peninsula placed an order for seven Rolls-Royce Silver Shadows, the carmaker's biggest single order. That tradition has continued, with the property making regular headline-grabbing upgrades to its fleet, including nine Silver Spur IIIs and a vintage 1934 Phantom II Sedanca de Ville in 1994.

This latest order, which brings the hotel's Rolls-Royce count to 20, has extra significance as it marks 100 years of the Phantom.

The flagship Peninsula hotel opened in 1928 and the portfolio now extends to 12 hotels in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, New York, Chicago, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, Istanbul, Bangkok and Manila.
