The Dubai airline’s updated Covid-19 regulations are now in place
Effective from 13 January 2022, Dubai-based Emirates airlines will resume passenger services to and from African nations of Guinea (CKY), Cote d’Ivoire (ABJ), Ghana (ACC), Uganda (EBB) and Angola (LAD).
Passengers travelling from Guinea (CKY), Uganda (EBB) or Ghana (ACC) with Dubai as a final destination must take a PCR test within 48 hours of departure, then a rapid PCR test six hours before departure, and another on arrival.
Passengers travelling from Angola (LAD) or Cote d’Ivoire (ABJ) with Dubai as a final destination must take a PCR test within 72 hours of departure and another on arrival.
At the same time, Emirates has announced that passengers travelling on its A380 aircraft will no longer be able to use the on-board bar and lounge until further notice.

A spokesperson for the airline said: “In light of health and safety considerations, Emirates has temporarily modified some aspects of our on-board service. Our on-board lounge and social area will not be available to customers at this time. The safety of our customers and crew is of the utmost importance and will not be compromised.”
Located on the aircraft’s upper deck, the lounge was previously accessible to passengers travelling in first and business class. The space where passengers could order snacks, drinks and socialise could accommodate up to 26 people.
This latest move is just one of the safety measures that the airline has implemented since the start of the pandemic. All of its planes are fitted with HEPA cabin air filters, which filter out more than 99% of viruses and cabin crew wear personal protective equipment including masks, gloves and disposable gowns throughout the flight.
