Anantara adds new Budapest property to its portfolio

Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel is the brand’s first foray into Hungary

Set in the downtown part of the city, the Belle Epoque-style property – built in 1894 and historically known as a gathering place for Hungarian intellectuals – is being renovated with signature Anantara features set to be unveiled in spring 2022. They include a new lobby, refurbished rooms and a new restaurant, White Salon, serving traditional Hungarian cuisine.

A signature Anantara spa is also set to open later in 2022, with four treatment rooms inspired by both the brand’s Thai roots and Budapest’s thermal bath heritage.

The new additions join existing facilities, including 185 rooms decorated with historic artworks and antiques and two Presidential Suites featuring handmade Murano glass chandeliers, marble bathrooms and custom-designed furnishings.

Existing dining options include the New York Café, featuring gold frescoed ceilings and Venetian glass chandeliers; the Deep Water Breakfast Room, serving a gourmet buffet in palatial surrounds; The Poet Bar, an intimate venue for after-dinner drinks, and the Atrium, which specialises in cocktails.

The hotel also has several meeting and events spaces, including a ballroom for up to 550 guests

The hotel is the brand’s fourth Europe property, joining Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort in Portugal, Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavis Marbella in Spain and Anantara Palazzo Naiada Rome in Italy.
