The Leela Palaces hotels have entered 'Beyond Green' global portfolio

Two hotels have made it into Preferred Hotels & Resorts' world's most sustainable listing

The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts group has announced that two Leela marquee palaces have been enlisted into Beyond Green, Preferred Hotels & Resorts' global portfolio of the most sustainable hotels around the world. 

The Leela Palace Udaipur and The Leela Palace Bengaluru will join the ranks of Beyond Green, which represents the collective's most sustainable properties based upon leadership action and impact.

"Committed to building a better and brighter future for people and the planet, Beyond Green offers travellers a curated way to discover hotels that align with their responsible travel values and aspirations," explains a spokesperson for Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

As members of Beyond Green, The Leela Palace Bengaluru and The Leela Palace Udaipur are dedicated to deliver on the three pillars of sustainable tourism: following environmentally sound, socially responsible practices that go beyond the basics; protection of cultural heritage, and the communities that upholds these while also adhering to more than 50 sustainability indicators that align with global sustainable tourism criteria, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Leela Palace Bengaluru is now mainly powered by renewable energy with 90% of the property running on wind energy. 

The Leela Palace Udaipur recently received the SEEMS Platinum National Energy Management Award and is the only hotel to employ EV boats using high powered internal battery systems on Lake Pichola. 

The group continues to make significant investments to integrate sustainable practices and nurture communities in the locations where it operates.
