The Chedi Hegra to open in AlUla, Saudi Arabia in Q4 2023

The Chedi Hegra to open in AlUla, Saudi Arabia in Q4 2023

The GHM boutique hotel will comprise 35 rooms

The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has partnered with luxury hospitality operator General Hotel Management (GHM) to open The Chedi Hegra.

The new Chedi property will be located within the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hegra in AlUla and will be built directly into several existing structures including an old railway station and the Hegra Fort.

The structural and exterior walls, some with historical mud-brick construction, are being preserved and integrated with the modern architecture of the hotel. However, the majority of the UNESCO World Heritage Site will remain untouched by the construction.

Once open, guests will have access to three fine-dining restaurants, a café, a spa and a pool.

GHM chief executive officer Tommy Lai said: “As the first hotel within Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, we are committed to preserve the site’s integrity while seamlessly integrating modern architecture and comforts.”

Elsewhere in Saudi Arabia, GHM has partnered with Neom Hotel Development to manage the upcoming Chedi Trojena. The hotel will be located within the Slope Residences in Trojena’s Relax Cluster.
