Philippines targets GCC travellers with new hub and travel app

The platforms will serve as guides to help agents and holidaymakers discover the destination

The Department of Tourism (DoT) and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines have partnered with Connecting Travel to target the travel trade in the Middle East.

Connecting Travel's new Philippines hub will ensure the destination remains front-of-mind for travel agents in the Middle East, curating all the latest news and information about the popular holiday spot in one place, along with travel trade resources, essential contact information and social media links.

Connecting Travel's destination hubs are supported by targeted SEO campaigns amplifying all content, which is shared in both English and Arabic to the trade free of charge. In addition, a comprehensive series of backlinks throughout the bespoke content raises each destination's online ranking.

TPB has also released an upgraded version of the Travel Philippines app. Previously launched in 2020, the app initially provided users with access to the latest travel advisories and safety guidelines in various destinations that had reopened to tourism following the pandemic.

This new and improved version of the app aims to provide a more convenient way for GCC travellers to experience all the culture and attractions that the Philippines have to offer. As a resource for travellers, it can be used to plan journeys across the country, access travel deals and promotions, and manage their digital travel documents. A real-time chat support facility will also be available.

Updated every month, the app will also provide information and multimedia assets for hundreds of accommodation options, attractions, immersive experiences and services.

The app is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
