Anantara to debut in Sharjah, UAE

The brand's first resort will open in 2027 with 110 rooms

Minor Hotels is to expand its portfolio of luxury properties in the UAE with the opening of the Anantara Sharjah Resort. 

Set to open in 2027, the property will mark the brand’s debut in the emirate, a Unesco Cultural Capital of the Arab World. 

Located along Sharjah’s Al Heerah Beach, it will have 110 guest rooms and suites, ranging from 45 sq m to 120 sq m. 

A collection of five restaurants will include Anantara’s signature Mekong restaurant and a speciality restaurant focused on local flavours. 

Additional facilities will include an infinity pool, an Anantara Spa, a fitness centre and 400 sq m of meeting space.  

The hotel will join an expanding collection of Anantara properties in the Middle East, with 10 resorts in the UAE including two which have opened in 2024 – Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat. It also has two resorts in Oman and one in Qatar.

Minor Hotels chief executive officer Dillip Rajakarier said: “In recent years, Sharjah has blossomed into a cultural hub, drawing both holidaymakers and business visitors with its coastal charm and making it an optimal destination for our latest venture in the Middle East.

“The expansion of the luxury Anantara brand into Sharjah is an opportunity to deliver our unmatched lifestyle offerings to a new audience.”

With more than 540 hotels in 56 countries, Minor Hotels has a portfolio of eight hotel brands including Anantara, Avani, Elewana Collection, NH, NH Collection, nhow, Oaks and Tivoli.

The group is intending to add more than 200 hotels to its roster by the end of 2026.
