China OTA Trip.com to promote Dubai's top tourist attractions
China is an important source market for Dubai in the UAE, reflected in a new partnership between online travel agency (OTA) Trip.com and Dubai Holding Entertainment.
Before the onset of the pandemic, China was Dubai's fifth largest tourist source market, and the emirate is again proving popular as Chinese outbound tourism recovers.
The UAE started granting visas on arrival to Chinese visitors in 2016, with more than 764,000 taking advantage in 2017. In the first four months of 2024, almost 290,000 overnight visitors arrived from China, a 101% increase compared to the same period the previous year.
Trip.com Group will become the preferred partner in China for Dubai Holding Entertainment’s attractions, which pulls in millions of visitors each year.
