Launched in 1997, this distinction highlights restaurants offering quality and value
Ahead of releasing the full list of Michelin Dubai winners on 23 May 2023, the Dubai edition of the Michelin Guide has revealed three new Bib Gourmand venues.
The three new Bib Gourmand restaurants are 21 Grams, "an urban Balkan bistro" with influences from Eastern Europe down to Greece and Turkey; 3Fils, offering Asian small plates with a nod to Japan, and Aamara, a vibrant restaurant that takes inspiration from the Silk Route, serving everything from the Mediterranean to Eastern Asian cuisine.
The Bib Gourmand distinction puts the spotlight on restaurants that offer authentic and memorable culinary experiences at a moderate price.
Last year, at Michelin Guide Dubai’s inaugural selection, 14 Bib Gourmand were highlighted. This year, three new restaurants have been honoured with the award, bringing the total number of eateries that offer "affordable meals without compromising on quality" to 17.
The complete selection of the Michelin Guide Dubai 2023, including all restaurants, culinary distinctions and special awards, will be unveiled 23 May at a ceremony held at Atlantis The Royal.
Commenting on the announcement, Michelin Guides international director Gwendal Poullennec said: “All around the world, food-lovers trust the Bib Gourmand distinction, which helps them discover wonderful flavours offered by talented professionals at a moderate price. Dubai makes no exception, with its remarkable culinary dynamism.
“With 17 Bib Gourmand restaurants in Dubai, including three new additions, travellers and local gourmets can discover a wide range of cooking styles, from Balkan and Indian, to Emirati and Japanese, safe in the knowledge that these restaurants were ‘a hit’ with our inspectors.”
