Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas delivery delayed

Inaugural sailing will now depart 31 August 2025

Royal Caribbean International has cancelled the first two scheduled sailings on Star of the Seas and pushed back the ship’s delivery date.

The vessel, a sister ship to Icon of the Seas, was due to depart on its maiden voyage from Port Canaveral on 17 August 2025, but the line said the ship, which is being built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, is going to be delivered “later than anticipated”, leading to the cancellation of both the 17 and 24 August 2025 sailings.

A spokesperson said: “Guests booked on the cancelled cruises can rebook their vacation on another ship or move to Star’s first sailing on 31 August. We have communicated these updates to guests and travel partners.”

Star of the Seas is now scheduled to depart on its inaugural cruise on 31 August 2025.
