Programme focuses on maintaining optimal health under high levels of stress
Geared towards CEOs, entrepreneurs and business leaders, SHA Wellness Clinic has announced the launch of its Leader’s Performance Programme.
Drawing on research from SHA’s dedicated Cognitive Development & Brain Stimulation Unit and the expertise of its team of doctors, the new programme aims to help senior professionals achieve optimal performance and productivity while taking care of their physical and mental wellbeing.
According to data from the 2021 Global Leadership Forecast study, six out of 10 managers suffer extreme exhaustion at the end of the day.

SHA experts say that hyper-competitive environments, constant travel and time-zone changes, decision-making and sustained exposure to stress can lead to an excess of cortisol, producing negative consequences for brain and cognitive function, digestion and metabolism, cardiovascular health, immune system function, skin health and reproductive systems.
Supervised by SHA’s doctors, including professor Bruno Ribeiro do Couto, head of the Cognitive Development & Brain Stimulation Unit, and Dr Vicente Mera, a sleep specialist and head of the Healthy Ageing Unit, the Leader’s Performance Programme will focus on optimising health in these key areas, as well as equipping guests with the tools to react to stress in the best way.
The intensive week-long programme will start with a bioenergetic assessment, and a full medical examination and cardiology consultation to gather a full picture of the client’s general health, and personalise the programme in accordance with their specific requirements.

Guests will also receive an in-depth neurocognitive consultation to assess current levels of brain function, looking at 22 variables that cover reasoning, memory, attention, co-ordination and perception. Based on results, guests will then undergo neurocognitive stimulation treatments to develop maximum cognitive potential, such as brain photobiomodulation, which is said to be effective in treating stress, insomnia and anxiety.
Dr Mera explained: "In the Leader's Performance programme, we work on the seven areas with the greatest impact on physical and cognitive performance: diet, physical exercise, rest, stress and emotion management, detoxification, recovery of the intestinal microbiota and hormonal balance.”
He added: "CEOs and senior executives are used to prioritising professional goals in their daily lives and it's essential they transfer this priority to their healthcare."
