Cabin crew will learn how to assist hearing-impaired passengers
Saudi Arabian low-cost air carrier Flynas has launched a programme to train its cabin crew in sign language.
The airline has teamed up with the Saudi Association for Hearing Impairment in the first initiative of its kind in Saudi Arabia.
The programme aims to enable cabin crew members to communicate effectively with hard of hearing and deaf passengers.

The advanced qualification programme focuses on proficiency in using sign language and the training material covers all stages of catering to hearing-impaired passengers, from checking in and boarding to in-flight catering and safety procedures.
The initiative follows the success of a similar programme implemented by Flynas at the beginning of 2024 to train ground service staff and cabin crew on the best ways to deal with travellers with autism.
