Ireland's low-cost carrier Ryanair suspends flights to Israel

UAE-based airlines have suspended flights to Tel Aviv

Cancellation is the result of Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) terminal 1 closure

Ireland's low-cost carrier Ryanair (FR) has cancelled all flights to and from Israel.

Ryanair operates flights from several cities in Europe to Israel, including Brussels (CRL), Vienna (VIE), Malta (MLA), Budapest (BUD), Poznan (POZ), Bucharest (OTP), Vilnius (VNO) and Marseille (MRS), but does not fly to Israel from the UK or Ireland.

A spokesperson for the Irish carrier confirmed that the airline cancelled all its flights to and from Israel after Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) closed Terminal 1, its low-cost terminal, used by the airline.

Ryanair has been contacting passengers booked to fly to Israel to either change the date or claim a refund.

Airlines operating from Terminal 3 must pay higher fees than Terminal 1. Ryanair inquired about the possibility of receiving lower charges at Terminal 3 but this request was denied.

A Ryanair spokesperson said that flights to Tel Aviv would resume once Terminal 1 reopens.
