Turkish President Erdoğan attended official unveiling
The Turkish capital’s newest luxury hotel, Rixos Tersane Istanbul, is now welcoming guests.
Touted as the ‘Pearl of the Golden Horn’, the 432-key hotel is situated in Haliç – the Golden Horn - within the city’s new coastal precinct, Tersane Istanbul.
The Golden Horn served as a natural harbour that made Istanbul a key trade centre in the Mediterranean and Near East during the Middle Ages.
The new property was inaugurated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and is considered the flagship of the Rixos Group, which has investments in eight countries across three continents.
Inspired by its location, Rixos Tersane Istanbul has curated an art collection under the theme of cultural sustainability. It will feature contemporary artworks by local and international artists, along with a catalogue and digital archive.
The hotel provides guests with various dining options along with a range of sports and wellness activities. It has an infinity pool with views of the historic peninsula and also has a ballroom and event hall.

Rixos Hotels Chairman Fettah Tamince said: “We are revitalising the 600-year-old Tersane Istanbul, which reflects the most valuable elements of Istanbul's cultural and industrial heritage yet has been in disuse for many years and restoring it as a modern living space for the citizens of Istanbul.
“Rixos Tersane Istanbul, which we have opened in this unique area, will bring a new perspective to urban hospitality.
“It will also play an important role in passing down this deep-rooted cultural heritage to future generations.”
