Resorts World One to homeport in Taiwan from April to Nov 2025

Ship to offer sailings to more destinations in Japan

Resorts World Cruises will return to homeport in Keelung, Taiwan, with its Resorts World One ship from 30 April 2025, doubling its capacity.

The 1,800-passenger ship will operate existing and new itineraries to Japan for three, four and six-day cruises to Okinawa, as well as to the main islands of Kyushu, Honshu and Shikoku.

Resorts World One will be the first cruise line to depart from Keelung on Sundays, offering 15 sailings for the six-day Osaka (via Wakayama) Kochi Cruise, which coincides with World Expo 2025 Osaka.

Fans of the Expo who may be on board can join shore excursions with pre-arranged entry tickets to the event, which is predicted to attract 28 million visitors and has the theme ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’.

Kochi Castle

All cruises in July and August will be to Osaka and Kochi, enabling families to take their children to see Expo exhibits from 161 countries.

Other excursion options include the historic city of Kyoto and also the diverse attractions of Wakayama, home to the Unesco World Heritage Site of Koyasan, a sacred site with over 50 temples built more than 1,200 years ago; Wakayama Castle; onsens (hot springs); and some of the best seafood restaurants in Japan.

In the Shikoku region, Kochi city is a less-visited gem, with the Shimanto River Valley touted as “one of Japan’s best secrets to discover”. Other attractions include Kochi Castle, Chikurin-ji Temple, Harimaya Bridge and Ryugu Shrine.

As the first cruise line to offer three Japanese destinations for its six-day cruises in 2024, Resorts World Cruises will also reintroduce popular itineraries from Keelung to Okinawa and Kyushu for the 2025 season.

These will include a total of eight sailings departing on Sundays. In addition, the four-day Okinawa Cruises, departing on select Sundays, will also cruise to Naha and Miyakojima.

These new itineraries will increase inbound fly-cruise passengers from all parts of Asia.

Michael Goh, President of Resorts World Cruises, said: “We would like to thank the Taiwan market for the tremendous support that has led to the strong and positive cruise demand for the Resorts World One for two consecutive years.

“As our deployments have spurred the overall local economy with cruise passengers, demand for transportation and accommodations, local sourcing of supplies and services and creation of job opportunities, we look forward to future growth together in 2025.”
