Elias J Moukarzel brings two decades of experience to the role
Qatar's Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay has appointed Elias J Moukarzel as its new General Manager.
Moukarzel, a Lebanese-Russian national with more than 20 years' experience in luxury hospitality, is a graduate of Ecole Supérieure Internationale de Savignac in France, where he earned an MBA in Hospitality Management and Tourism.
He also attended the prestigious Hotel School in Toulouse, laying the foundation for his successful career in hospitality.
Having held leadership positions with global hotel brands such as InterContinental, Hilton and Fairmont, Moukarzel is well placed to helm the Doha property, and his experience spans luxury destinations, including Monaco and Dubai, providing him with a global perspective on high-end hospitality management.

“I am excited to join Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay and contribute to the growth of Qatar’s hospitality sector,” Moukarzel said. “I look forward to delivering memorable experiences to our guests.”
Opened in January 2024, the 44-storey property combines art deco-inspired design with modern luxury. It has 283 rooms and suites alongside 50 luxury apartments, offering guests panoramic views of Doha’s skyline.
Facilities include a four-floor wellness centre with a salt inhalation relaxation suite, hydrotherapy pools and dedicated fitness areas.
A centrepiece of the lobby is the Tiffany & Co clock paying homage to Qatar’s national bird, the falcon.
