Mandarin Oriental, Singapore has reopened to the public after a six-month transformation.

The property’s refreshed look draws on the city-state’s nature, cultural heritage and architectural traditions.

Led by principal designer Jeffrey Wilkes, the original interiors have been refrehed in colours from signature Singaporean elements, such as Peranakan-style architecture, black-and-white houses and Angsana trees.

Wilkes explained: “Every corner of the hotel tells a story, from Singapore’s lush landscapes to the intricate details found in traditional shophouses. We wanted guests not just to be visiting the city, but to feel a part of it.”

The hotel’s 42 suites now include a Presidential Suite and a four-bedroom Royal Marina Bay Penthouse, perched on its two uppermost floors accompanied with panoramic views of the South China Sea and Marina Bay.

For longer stays, there are 45 residential suites offering a home-away-from-home space with a lounge and fully equipped kitchenette with a washer and dryer.

Mandarin Oriental, Singapore’s all-day dining concept has been reimagined as Embu, a garden-style space with a specially tailored kids’ buffet and playground, and MO BAR returns with a new collection of cocktails.
