Kuwaitis look for short-haul long weekend breaks in January and February 2024
Residents of Kuwait have two long weekend breaks to look forward to, providing the region's travel agents with an opportunity to create tailor-made packages for would-be travellers.
The country’s government cabinet confirmed that Sunday 31 December 2023 and Monday 1 January 2024 will be public holidays, and, as Kuwait observes its weekend over Friday and Saturday, the weekend and combined celebration will give working Kuwaitis a four-day break in which to travel over New Year.
Residents of Kuwait will also have a long weekend break in February 2024 as the country marks its National Day and Liberation Day on consecutive days.

National Day and Liberation Day fall on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 February respectively, and with the weekend falling over Friday and Saturday, the combined leave will give working Kuwaitis another four-day break.
While some travellers will seek short-haul long weekend escapes within the region, others may choose to add three days' personal leave to allow for a nine-day holiday, giving travel agents scope to create mid- and long-haul holidays, from skiing breaks in Europe to South Asia beach holidays.
