Jumeirah opens its first hotel in Saudi Arabia

Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah is a short walk from the Great Mosque of Makkah

Jumeirah Group, Dubai Holding's luxury hospitality company, has continued its expansion with the opening of its first hotel in Saudi Arabia in the holy city of Makkah.

Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah, located in Jabal Omar, has opened with 507 guest rooms and suites spanning two high-rise towers with views over the city and the Great Mosque of Makkah. A further 526 rooms and suites will be added in phases across two more towers.

Mediterranean restaurant Patras and the lobby lounge are currently open, with six more restaurants to come.

Other facilities include three meeting rooms and event spaces that can accommodate between 10 and 70 people.

The hotel's 88 residences occupy the podium across the four towers of the property and have spacious terraces, allowing guests to join the group prayers at the Great Mosque of Makkah from the comfort of their own accommodation.

Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah's recently appointed general manager, Rizwan Shaikh, brings more than 20 years of luxury hospitality experience gained in India, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
