Island resort to rebrand and be reimagined for 2026 opening

Ennismore, the fast-growing lifestyle and leisure hospitality company, has announced the signing of Mondrian Maldives resort which is due to open in 2026.

Located on Kuredhivaru Island, a 45-minute seaplane flight from capital Malé International Airport, the property will operate as Kuredhivaru Resort & Spa under Ennismore’s management before transitioning into a Mondrian.

Previously, the resort was run by Mövenpick.

Mondrian Maldives, located on an exclusive island in the Noonu Atoll, will bring its signature style to 30 beach pool villas, 72 overwater pool villas and three-bedroom beach pool residences. Every villa has a private swimming pool.

Mondrian will provide experiences that reflect Maldivian culture, as well as offer a spa, gym, diving centre, yoga pavilion, tennis courts, swimming pools and a kids’ club. There will be four restaurant and bar venues.

Mondrian has 10 properties in some of the world’s most exciting cultural hubs, including Singapore, Los Angeles, Miami, Doha, Mexico City, Cannes, Bordeaux, Seoul, Hong Kong and Ibiza.

Mondrian is also opening two properties in the UAE, with Mondrian Abu Dhabi with the 300-key Mondrian Abu Dhabi slated to open its doors in 2025.

Ennismore previously announced significant expansion in the Middle East as part of its global growth strategy.

The company is known for its diverse brand portfolio including Mondrian, Mama Shelter and 25hours, and is set to launch several new properties across the region this year, including three hotels in Saudi Arabia and two in Egypt.

Ennismore has more than 170 open hotels and 120 in the pipeline.
