Northern English hub handles record 2.8m passengers in one month
Dubai was the most popular destination from UK's Manchester airport during the October school half-term with record passenger numbers.
New routes have also proved popular with more than 11,000 passengers flying to Las Vegas on a Virgin Atlantic service, which started in June, and to Shanghai by Juneyao Air, with flights that began in July.
The northwest hub handled more than 2.8 million travellers in its 13th consecutive record-breaking month, and with October's performance Manchester airport reported a record 30.1 million passengers in a 12-month period.

Manchester airport managing director Chris Woodroofe said: “We’re really proud to serve the people of the north – connecting them to the destinations they want to travel to.
