Target markets include the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia
Corinthia Hotels is set to embark on a significant expansion across the GCC region.
Plans will see the luxury hospitality group roll out top-tier hotel projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, as well as in destinations in Oman, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
The hotel projects will be set up through bespoke, flexible contract arrangements with Corinthia’s existing and new capital partners that specialise in luxury hotel real estate.
After resigning from his role at Four Seasons President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Simon Casson took on the role of CEO of Corinthia Hotels to spearhead its expansion.

On LinkedIn, Casson wrote: "Immensely proud to share that I have been appointed as Chief Executive Officer for Corinthia Hotels Limited. I greatly appreciate the trust and vision of Chairman and founder Alfred Pisani and board member Simon Naudi who appointed me. This family company was founded more than 60 years ago and it’s a company that has an aspirational vision for service and product excellence. I will be working tirelessly with the team to elevate the company in the luxury space and grow the brand in key global markets, starting April."
New openings in 2024 include hotels in New York, Rome, Bucharest and Brussels.
Talking about the Middle East expansion plans, Casson said: "We are developing Corinthia Hotels into a global luxury hospitality brand, with the UAE and the Middle East as some of the key markets due to strong inbound and outbound demand. Our clients frequently travel to the Middle East and we aim to offer them Corinthia experiences there.”
Corinthia’s Middle East properties are expected to have between 70 and 150 keys, alongside high-end restaurants and bars, and state-of-the-art gyms and wellness facilities.
