During holiday, more than 100,000 people a day crossed causeway from Saudi
Bahrain’s hotel sector has experienced a boom during Eid Al Fitr 2025, driven by an influx of Gulf tourists, mainly Saudis.
The surge in the number of visitors resulted in hotel occupancy rates of more than 90% in Bahrain. Occupancy at some hotels has reportedly reached 95% capacity during the holiday.
Saudi visitors are believed to constitute around 60% of the overall number of tourists to Bahrain annually. The King Fahd Causeway linking Saudi Arabia and Bahrain facilitates such trips.

Eid Al Fitr, which began on 30 March 2025, following the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, typically marks a peak season for Bahrain.
This year, more than 100,000 people crossed the causeway on average per day during the Eid holiday, which is reflected not only in the occupancy rates of hotels, but also in takings at Bahrain's restaurants and entertainment facilities.
Good neighbours to have, Saudi tourists spend three to four times more than visitors from other nations, data shows.
