Abu Dhabi announces new protocols for events and exhibitions

Venues must now install EDE Covid-19 detection scanners

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has implemented updated safety measures for those attending events and exhibitions. EDE Covid-19 detection scanners will now be compulsory at the entrances of all establishments. Venues that don’t currently have EDE scanners are required to install them as soon as the devices are available.

Intended to help curb the spread of Covid-19, the updated protocols require that guests provide a negative PCR test result less than 96 hours old, in addition to presenting green status on the Alhosn app. The status of people who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 remains green for 30 days after their last PCR test.

In addition, all attendees have to wear face masks and will be subject to thermal screenings at all entry points.
