Land-and-sea voyage will visit six continents, 40 countries and 71 ports over 140 days

The holiday to rival all holidays tips the scales as the world’s most expensive, according to luxury travel company Panache Cruises.

The 140-day round-the-world sea-and-land itinerary for two, which starts in Miami and ends in New York, spans six continents and 40 countries, and costs US$2.1 million.

For the sea leg of the journey, guests will stay in a 4,443-square-foot, ultra-luxury Regent Suite on board Regent Seven Seas Cruises' Seven Seas Splendor, and on land, they’ll spend a week in the US$76,000-a-night penthouse at The Mark Hotel in New York.

Regent Suite

Situated at the very top deck of the Seven Seas Splendor with the same view as the bridge, the Regent Suite spans the ship and is equal in size to a luxury penthouse.

Inside the most exclusive address at sea, guests can relax in a private spa, including a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi with unlimited in-suite treatments between ports.

The suite is decked out with rare, original Picasso lithographs, hand-blown Lalique art vases, a Marzotto Cristallo designer throw and a custom Steinway Grand Maroque Piano.

Regent Suite living room

The suite also features a living room, dining room, two spacious bedrooms, two marble bathrooms and two private balconies, and is manned by a personal butler.

As well as staying in the Regent Suite, guests will have their pick of 486 shore excursions, including 73 UNESCO World Heritage site visits with a personal chauffeur and guide.

On sailing days, guests can enjoy unlimited drinks and the panoramic ocean view from their private bar or mini pool spa on one of their two private balconies.

Food connoisseurs will be in their element, with priority reservations arranged at restaurants, access to a private dining room and a complimentary bottle of Louis VIII, worth US$5,057.

Regent Suite Bathroom

On arrival in New York, the pair will be chauffeured to The Mark Hotel to stay in the 12,000-square-foot penthouse where Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, had her baby shower. Located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan it comprises a spacious living room and expansive rooftop terrace.

The trip includes business class flights and a pre-cruise luxury hotel package, so guests arrive on the ship feeling refreshed and ready for the world's most expensive holiday.

Sailing in January 2027, the ship will travel across the Caribbean, and on to Africa, Europe, Asia, Australasia and the South Pacific before returning to America.

It's estimated that, during the cruise, 14,000 bottles of Champagne will be served along with 13,000lb of lobster and 150lb of caviar.

Options are available for guests 'on a budget', with an entry-level Veranda Suite available for US$138,000 per person, or US$654 per night.
