Mediterranean food-focused itinerary to take place in September 2024
Oceania Cruises is joining forces with American magazine Food & Wine to host an Editor’s Cruise featuring editor-in-chief Hunter Lewis on board its newly reimagined 1,250-guest ship Riviera.
Additional special guests will include renowned wine and food writer J’nai Gaither and Alex Prud’homme, a celebrated culinary author and a great-nephew of Julia Child.
The cruise will feature a culinary demonstration hosted by Lewis, as well as Oceania Cruises’ signature gala brunch and an exclusive Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve restaurant.

The Dom Pérignon Experience sees a different vintage of the renowned champagne served with each course. In addition, there'll be wine-tasting events and culinary-focused shore excursions.
The Food & Wine Editor’s Cruise departs on 11 September 2024 from Barcelona and explores epicurean hotspots across the Mediterranean, including Saint-Tropez, Rome (Civitavecchia) and Naples, ending in Athens (Piraeus), Greece, on 24 September.
Oceania Cruises president Frank Del Rio said: “Oceania Cruises is a cruise line built by foodies, run by foodies, for foodies, so the collaboration with Food & Wine is a natural one. Both brands are powerhouses in the culinary space and cater to the most discerning clientele."
Oceania Cruises' culinary team is helmed by two Master Chefs of France – Alexis Quaretti, senior culinary director, and Eric Barale, vice-president of culinary – and the cruise line's culinary motto is ‘The Finest Cuisine at Sea’.
